What does a lectorate?
A professorship conducts practice-based research on an academic basis to improve the quality of education. Our students are often involved in this research, for example through graduation assignments. It also involves academics who can pursue a PhD on issues relevant to higher education, under the supervision of the lector and their university supervisors.
A professorship consists of a lecturer and a research group, in which lecturers and external experts work together. Each lectorate is led by a lector who is an expert in a particular field. The lector uses his or her knowledge and experience for research and innovation within education and professional practice.
Our students are usually involved in this research, for example through graduation assignments or research projects. Academics are also deployed who can obtain a PhD on issues relevant to higher education, under the guidance of the lector and their university supervisors.
