Braess’ Paradox in a Transmission Line

The assignment is to focus on researching the paradox in a transmission line. To do so, we have set up several sub-goals, these are simulating a transmission line in SIMULINK, researching the mathematics behind the paradox, and simulating the paradox as a traffic jam in an electric circuit.

Project description

We first started studying on the subject by going through the same project done by another student last year, in order to understand the relevant theory and to determine which improvements could be made on previous research.

Current challenge is trying to interpret simulation results as well as making an actual system in a lab. We believe that the simulation of the transmission line and experimental results point towards the Braess’ Paradox being present.

As of 20th of May we have made a simulation of a transmission line, and the in and outgoing current have been measured.
