Teresa Tijero

Born in Soto de la Marina, Cantabria (Spain), Teresa Tijero began her violoncello studies at the Professional Conservatory of Music "Jesús de Monasterio" with Marina Kolesnikova as her professor and graded with the highest qualifications. In addition, she was awarded the first prize in the composition contest "Aprendiz de Autor" in the above-mentioned Conservatory. In 2017, she finished her bachelor studies at the Superior Conservatory of Asturias (Spain) with special distinction under the tutelage of Master Viguen Sarkissov. She also received masterclasses from Alban Gerhardt, Herre-Jan Stegenga, Ruslana Prokopenko, Amit Peledand Justus Grimm, among others.

She has collaborated in orchestras such as Oviedo Filarmonía (OFIL), Symphonic Orchestra of Ávila (OSAV) and Symphonic Orchestra of the Principality of Asturias (OSPA). She has participated in Festivals of Chamber Music, such as the Segovia Contemporary Music Days, Concerts of Casa Municipal de Cultura de Llanes (Spain) or Ocrum Muziek Festival (The Netherlands). She completed her undergraduate studies in Pedagogy at the Pädagogische Hochschule University of Education Upper Austria and the University of Oviedo in June 2019. Recently, she finished her Masters Degree in Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (Tilburg, The Netherlands) with cellist Monique Heidema in June 2020.

Alba Calle

Born in Asturias, Spain, Alba Calle Valiente combined both classical piano and harpsichord studies, now focusing on chamber music and the accompaniment of dance. Her recent performances include also recitals of solo and orchestra repertoire in which her intervention has been described as “a virtuoso work performed with the perfect ornamentation” and “unusual brilliance” as highlighted by the music critics in this arena, playing at venues in Spain, France, Germany and the Netherlands.

Calle started playing the piano in Spain at a young age and in 2016 she finished her piano performance Bachelor studies at the Conservatorio Superior de Música of Oviedo, under the tuition of Francisco Jaime Pantín. She continued her education with her Master of Music studies in Tilburg, at Fontys Hogeschool voor de Kunsten, receiving lessons from Nicolas Callot. She has also completed harpsichord studies at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música of Oviedo with teachers Samuel Maillo, Jorge López-Escribano and Aarón Zapico.

She has taken part of many specialization courses and masterclasses with high standard teachers as Nikolaas Kende, Clemens Rave, Miguel Ituarte, Jose Ramón Méndez, Paul Komen, Nata Tsveleri, Luca Chiantore or Jacques Ogg, among others. Three years ago she discovered her passion about working with dance, and she has been committed ever since on the search of repertoire in different styles, development of improvisation abilities and the connection through music. Currently she works as a ballet accompanist for the Fontys Dance Academy.
