Why My Student Journey?
Fontys supports students in discovering their talents through Talent-Based Education (TGO). TGO gives students more autonomy and encourages them to take charge of their learning process. However, it is essential to support students in their development, with their well-being as the foundation for effective, healthy, and happy functioning.
My Student Journey aligns perfectly with the ambitions of TGO, as it helps students take control, make choices that suit them, and reflect on their future.
MSJ is a reflection and well-being tool that can be used throughout all study years. It allows students to navigate their academic and life careers with greater self-awareness and autonomy. This makes MSJ a great follow-up to the Startthermometer, the reflection and well-being tool for first-year students.

What is My Student Journey?
My Student Journey is a personal online tool within Canvas that helps students develop awareness of their personal and professional growth. The online environment consists of four modules, each with a 'Test Yourself' questionnaire, various exercises, tips, and advice:
- How am I doing right now?
- Get to know yourself better.
- What are my future plans?
- How do I make choices that suit me?
If a student is unsure where to start, they can take a Quick Scan. They will receive a personalized email with advice on which module is most relevant to them at that moment.
Students can use this tool independently, but student coaches can also incorporate the assignments into coaching conversations or classroom settings. Completed assignments can be discussed with a teacher or student coach. Additionally, students can access tips or referrals to other support services, such as training sessions, online self-help modules, or specialized services via Fontys Helps.
