Your introduction week

Hello futurue MIRT-student,

So nice you that you signed up for the MIRT program.

A good start of course includes a great introduction week. During this week you will get to know your new fellow students, teachers, seniors, study program and your new college town. The introduction week is from August 26 to 30. Together with Purple and many sponsors, we have a very fun week in store for you. The introduction week is separate from your registration for the program. You must therefore register separately for the introduction week.

IMPORTANT: It is mandatory to stay overnight at the shared dormitory location this week, regardless of whether you already have a room in (near) Eindhoven.

No 18 = No alcohol

Programme

Please note! The program below is subject to change. Should the program change, you will be notified well in advance.

On Monday you are expected at the Purple campsite, Sumatralaan 3, 5631 AA Eindhoven between 9:45 AM and 10:30 AM. On this day you will be introduced to your study for the first time. We have therefore planned various introductory activities on this day, so that you can get to know not only your fellow students, but also the campus a little better. In the evening we all have a nice meal together and then of course we are going to explore Stratumseind*!

* In the evening there is the option to return to the campsite earlier for those who need it.

On Tuesday morning you will get to know the various study and student associations in Eindhoven. In the afternoon we have an activity together with the other Fontys Paramedical courses with the opportunity to cool off at the ‘IJzeren man’. In the evening we visit one of the bars on Stratumseind again for a pub quiz and a theme party. You might already spot some of your new teachers here! 😉
On Wednesday you will get to know the city where you will be going to study. In the morning we do this through a sports morning at the Student Sports Center, where you can get a taste of the wide range of sports on offer. In the afternoon the city day continues on the town hall square where the local
catering industry has organized a super cool party for us. During this party you can get to know all the new Fontys students from Eindhoven. If all that wasn't good enough, we end Wednesday with a pub crawl*. During this day we will show you all the ins and outs of the city!
Today you will meet the Fontys community during the fantastic Purple Festival. We will travel to Tilburg with the entire group for the highlight of this
introduction week!

Your introduction is over! Time to pack your bags and head home (departure time no later than 12:00 PM). We hope you thoroughly enjoyed it and made many new friends. Good luck during your studies and see you at Fontys!

This is the week where you can get to know your new fellow students outside the classroom! The first week starts directly with lectures and will not have an informal introductory program. The experience of students who participate in the INTRO is that in addition to it being a lot of fun, they also have a higher change of finding housing and can start their course more swiftfully. Purely because they already know people you can easily ask things about!

When registering for the intro week via the link above, you will be given the choice of whether or not to stay overnight at the Purple campsite in Eindhoven. We strongly recommend that you DO this! The program of the introduction week starts fairly early every day and only ends in the evening. If for some reason you decide to go home, transportation to and from the intro is at you own expense. Apart from the fact that it is quite complicated from a practical point of view if you don't stay the night, we know from experience that students really enjoy sleeping together and that it really adds something extra to the whole intro experience.

The 'good start' page is your source of information. Additional information can also be received via email.

Do you choose not to participate in the Introduction week? :-( Then take into account six months of hearing stories about the week ;-)
