    my introduction week

  •   Your introduction week - Campus Venlo
  •     Programme
September marks the start of the new academic year... But before studies begin, you will first take part in the introduction week! During this introduction week (Tuesday 27 August to Friday 30 August), getting to know each other is what it's all about!

    Programme

Great that you are going to start your study programme in Venlo! If you would like to get to know your fellow students and other 1st year students coming to study on our campus, please register for our introduction week. During this week we organise lots of activities so you can get to know your fellow students.

The introduction week starts on Tuesday (27 August) and ends on Friday (30 August). Each study programme has its own Tuesday programme, on Wednesday there is a Venlo Campus programme and on Thursday we go to the Purple festival in Tilburg.

You can choose to spend the night at the campsite, which we have set up especially for Fontys students at the Meulewiekers in Venlo (Hulsterweg 7, 5912 PL Venlo), but you can also choose to only participate in the day programme.
If you choose to go camping, you will have a fully taken care of programme, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. You will also participate in all activities of the introduction week, including the evening programme. At the campsite you will spend the nights in an army tent.
If you choose not to spend the night you will participate in the day programme. For students who sign up pnly for the day programme, the introduction week ends after the Purple Festival on Thursday.

Tuesday is our official study programme day. Camping guests arrive at the campsite in the morning and can set up their sleeping quarters, followed by the start of the day's programme for everyone. Each study programme provides its own programme on Tuesday. The main focus here is for students who will be doing the same study programme to get to know each other better. We will keep the exact programme a secret for now. The students who are currently following your programme have created a nice programme for you this day! We can already tell you that some traditions will definitely return on this day. If you are a day guest, you will go home around 5 pm. If you stay overnight at the campsite, you will participate in the barbecue and there will be another activity planned for you in the evening.
Wednesday will be our Venlo day. Camping guests will start with breakfast after which we also welcome the day guests to go and do a fun activity together in the North of Limburg. All of Fontys Venlo in the same location, that will be a party!!! In the afternoon, we will go to the city centre of Venlo, where we will participate in the Venlo Introduction Day. Here, students coming to study in Venlo this year will get to know Venlo's associations, cultural institutions and nightlife. Snacks and drinks will also be arranged for everyone. At 7pm the day programme ends, after which we will visit the student pubs in the city centre with the camping guests.
Thursday is marked as Fontys Day. On Thursday, we will take all 1st-year students to the Purple festival in Tilburg, where all 1st-year Fontys students (so from different locations as well!) come together to party together. We have already made sure that you can get something to eat and drink at the festival, as we have deposited 15 euros on everyone's wristband. This is exclusive for campus Venlo students. At 11pm, the bus leaves back to Venlo. Please note if you are not a campsite guest, you will have to provide your own transport home from Campus Venlo. Camping guests spend the night at the campsite for the last time.
ll good things come to an end.... This is the end of your introduction week! After having breakfast together, it's time to tear down the campsite. One more relaxing weekend and then it's time to really start your new student life next week!
