Student doubts whether he/she can cope with the level.

The student indicates that they have difficulty with the programme or with the material they have to study. They have difficulty keeping track of what they have to do, or want more practical or more scientific assignments. The question is whether higher professional education is the right place for this student and whether they would be better suited for senior secondary vocational education, higher education with a more scientific approach or part-time education.

Student wants to switch within their domain or to a different domain

This student indicates they are not (entirely) in the right place and want to switch to another programme. The student does feel at home in higher professional education and has a clear idea of what they are missing in their current study programme and what they expect from the study programme to which they want to switch.

There may be direct transfer options for students who want to switch within their domain. To this end, you can contact the coordinator of the other study programme.

Students who want to switch outside their domain can be referred to study career choice advisors.

Student with special circumstances

Special circumstances of students can vary quite a lot, from taking care of a relative, to autism or an international sports career. This student indicates they require additional support or attention to overcome the extra challenges.

Students can indicate this in their study choice check or upon registration, but not all students do.
It is important to inquire about this during the first session of coaching, to offer the student the opportunity to indicate this and to explain their needs.
