This course will prepare you for Staatsexamen NT2 Programme II, opening the door to higher education or professional roles.

Admission Requirements

To join this course, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Language Proficiency: Successful completion of a B1-level Dutch course or demonstration of equivalent skills.
  • Commitment: Willingness to dedicate time for self-study and assignments outside of lessons.
  • Technology Access: A stable internet connection, computer or tablet, and a functioning microphone and camera for online participation.

Content and structure

In this course, you'll refine your Dutch skills across all language areas, ensuring you're prepared for B2-level challenges in both personal and professional settings.

The B1 to B2 Dutch Language Programme enhances your ability to communicate fluently in diverse contexts. Subjects include:

  • Speaking: Engage in fluent, spontaneous conversations, expressing opinions, and discussing abstract topics.
  • Listening: Follow detailed discussions, presentations, and dialogues with ease.
  • Reading: Understand the main points of complex texts, including specialized materials.
  • Writing: Create structured, clear, and detailed texts on a wide range of subjects.
  • Grammar and Vocabulary: Master advanced grammar rules and build a nuanced vocabulary.
  • Cultural Understanding: Gain deeper insights into Dutch society and customs to navigate life in the Netherlands effectively.
  • Interactive lessons that focus on fluency and advanced grammar.
  • Reading and analyzing complex texts, including technical and abstract material.
  • Assignments based on Contact! Nieuw 4 textbook and workbook.
  • Weekly tasks to build and organize vocabulary for effective communication.
  • Lessons are immersive and conducted entirely in Dutch.
  • A strong emphasis on speaking and writing, complemented by listening and reading exercises.
  • Weekly personalized vocabulary building with a minimum of 25 new words, supported by Dutch novels and teacher recommendations.

Expanding your vocabulary is crucial at this level. Each week, you'll add at least 25 new words to your vocabulary file, including translations and practical usage examples. Teachers will monitor your progress throughout the course.

To ensure consistent learning, attendance of at least 80% is required. Notify your instructor in advance if you cannot attend a class.

Assessment
The final assessment includes:

  • Written test (50% of your grade)
  • Oral test (50% of your grade)

A minimum score of 5.5 is required in both components to pass the course and receive your certificate.
