What is a Centre of Expertise

A Centre of Expertise (CoE) is a partnership between one or more universities of applied sciences, industry, governments and other organisations. Centres of Expertises play an important role in the applied research of universities of applied sciences.

Working together on practice-based research

A Centre of Expertise involves professors, lecturer-researchers and professionals. Of the 700 professors from the universities of applied sciences, 550 are now involved in a CoE. Courses from one or more universities of applied sciences and students are also connected to a CoE. This makes Centres of Expertise important vehicles for practice-based research and interaction with education. Some 50 CoEs exist nationwide.
