Course description
A basic understanding of Spanish language (A1) and culture. Acquiring other languages and cultures could be usefull to enrich your experience and broaden your view on the world and on co-working with other people in your work as a business consultant.
Competences and learning objectives
Competences: (multi)cultural awareness, language skills A1 (NT2), creating conversation in context of Dutch culture and insights on cultural themes of the Netherlands.
Learning objectives
- Use the right vocabulary and grammar on niveau A1 in practical contexts such as shopping, university and student life;
- Create a conversation in different environments in Spain;

General course information
Required previous knowledge
Accessible for every student who has some knowledge of western languages, such as English.
Recommended literature
Will be announced the first week of class.
Way of working
Students are expected to be present in all classes. Active participation is expected and necessary to pass for this subject. During class teachers and students will focus on phonetics and you will receive feedback in small groups on your conversational skills and phonetics. For culture we will determine in the first class what our topics will be. Students are encouraged to participate actively in the selection of topics.
Exam
Oral Assessment in small groups. Formative testing is part of all the classes provided.
Caesura
A final score of 5,5 or higher leads to passing the course and receiving the related 2 ECTS.
Retake exam
The retake of the exam is scheduled at the end of the semester. This is usually two or three weeks after the first exam week.
