Proof of living expenses (NON-EEA students)
Dutch Immigration Service (IND) requires non-EEA students to proof they have access to €14,641 for the first year of the study before they start their studies. For exchange students the amount is €7,320.
The student will receive a payment letter for tuition fees and visa costs through their study department. Only in the first year you have to pay the full sum in a single payment. As from the second year you can pay the tuition fee in installments.
Besides this, the IND requirements concerning proof of financial means are part of the visa procedure. The student can prove the amount of Living Expenses through bank documents or by transfer to the Fontys bank account. The amount transferred to Fontys will be refunded in the first month after arrival in the Netherlands. An email containing a link to the refund form will be sent by International Students.The amount will be transferred to a newly opened Dutch bank account or a Bunq or Revolut account. All options concerning the proof of financial means will show during the visa application procedure.
Additional conditions for Bachelor a/o Master students of the following nationalities:
- Nepal
- Bangladesh
- Pakistan
- Cameroon
- Nigeria
Students of these nationalities have to be aware they have to transfer the full refundable amount of the living expenses to the bank account of Fontys. Proof by means of bank documents will not be accepted.
