Angelina about IEM

I’m Angelina Chakarove, I’m from Bulgaria and I’m a third-year student of Industrial Engineering and Management at Fontys. I have always been a technical oriented person and I wanted to develop myself within this field. On the other hand, I'm also interested in the dynamic relationships between human behaviour and the efficiency of engineering. Therefore, the combination of these two aspects brought me to this choice of program. I specifically chose Fontys BEnT because of the recommendations of the ‘Unify’ agency I chose for applying. The agency has offices in our country, and they helped me choose the best option for me

I decided to study abroad, because frankly speaking, I wanted to gain a different and broad experience in terms of education and life compared to the experience in my home country. So, I prepared my CV, my motivation letter and all the documentations I needed and I jumped into this adventure!

The thing I like most about my study is the openness of the teachers and students around me and the way they interact with people. When it comes to the subjects, at this point in my education I can see that they’re closely linked with the real life situations within companies.

"All the teachers are willing to help us in every situation. Not only in terms of education, but also in terms of personal matter."

As for my class, I’m in touch with many fellow students as we chat and constantly keep each other updated about certain assignments within the internship. What I've learned about my Dutch classmates and Dutch people in general is that they have a very liberal way of thinking. It still astonishes me!

My tip for anyone that wants to study abroad is: jump into this challenge with no fear and apprehension!
