In the 1-year Fontys Master of Science in Finance, you will refine your financial expertise through advanced strategies, econometrics, and management skills. With the MSc in Finance, you will enhance your analytical and critical reasoning skills while deepening your financial knowledge and technical expertise. You will master financial strategies, econometrics, and financial management from a global perspective. Study in the Netherlands and England, completing your degree with a thesis under expert supervision.
In the first trimester of your Master of Science in Finance at Fontys in the Netherlands, you will explore core modules such as investments and corporate finance. Develop skills in portfolio design, bond and equity valuation, and corporate financial decision-making. Gain comprehensive knowledge of investment strategies, financial risk management, and corporate governance, building a strong foundation for a successful career in finance.
In the second trimester, you will begin with an intensive introduction to your master’s thesis and research methods. Explore financial reporting, foreign exchange markets, and hedging. Core modules include international finance, focusing on multinational finance and hedging, as well as the analysis of financial statements, with an emphasis on global reporting standards and corporate governance. This trimester will deepen your understanding of the complexities of international finance.
In the third trimester, you will work independently on your dissertation, with guidance from a member of the scientific team. As part of the advanced business research module, you will research a finance-related topic of your choice, present a proposal for review, and prepare a dissertation of 8,000 to 10,000 words. This trimester is dedicated to refining your research skills and deepening your expertise in your chosen area of finance.
