Erasmus+ short period abroad conditions:

  • The short stay abroad has a physical (on location abroad) and virtual (online from home country) component. The virtual component can be before or after physical component, or both before and after and has no specified duration. That is why this type of mobility is called “blended".
  • The physical study period abroad must take a minimum of 5 days and a maximum of 30 days. You may receive grants for various mobility periods totalling up to 360 days maximum per each cycle of study (Bachelor, Master), independently from the number and type of mobility activities.
  • A short period abroad needs to have a full-time workload.
  • Students need to be registered at Fontys, not as exchange student.
  • Students aim to get at least 3 ECTS.
  • The destination University needs to be a partner of your Fontys University Cluster.
  • You need to move to another country for the duration of your short stay abroad, regardless of your nationality. For example: German students, living in Germany, but studying their degree programme in the Netherlands can not receive an Erasmus+ scholarship for short stay abroad in Germany, even if they move places within Germany.
  • The application has to be completed in your Mobility Online workflow before the deadline and the documentation needs to be signed before the start of your short stay abroad.
  • If the student does not meet all Erasmus+ Scholarship conditions and fails to complete and submit the Learning Agreement, Grant Agreement and Participant Report the student will need to fully reimburse the financial support received.
  • This first payment is based on the dates that the student enters in Mobility Online Erasmus+ Scholarship application form and equals 70% of the total estimated grant based on these dates.
  • When your short stay abroad period ends you need to fill out and upload additional documents. Based on the exact dates filled out in the Transcript of Records or Statement of Host University the scholarship will be re-calculated and the final payment will be done (final amount for the whole period minus the first amount paid).
  • For short stay abroad mobility activities you can apply for 2 days of funded travel days. For these days the scholarship amount that applies to you is also applicable.

Erasmus+ BIP (Blended Intensive Programme) specific conditions:

  • Blended Intensive Programs (BIPS) are jointly developed modules for groups of students from at least 3 universities, from at least 3 countries. In total there are at least 10 participants travelling to the destination. The selection of students is done by the Fontys School that participates in the BIP project.
  • BIPs use innovative and digital ways (e.g. challenged based learning, research based learning etc) and have a theme related to UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) or societal challenges.
