Study load: 5 ECTS (~140 hours)

Exam: 20 % Class Participation (Score 1-10), 20% Presentations (Score 1-10), 60% Final Portfolio, consisting of assignments completed throughout the semester (Score 1-10). Passing score: 5.5 or higher for all components.

Course description

This course is about understanding American culture from an interdisciplinary perspective, including historical (from the colonial period on), sociological, regional, and literary perspectives. In addition this subject strives for creating understanding the cultural underpinnings of current events in the USA.
