Course description
This Organizational Change course forms part of the Business Process Management Elective. Change affects all organizations and can pose both an opportunity but also a threat if those organizations are not scanning their external environment. In this course students will examine the impact of change on an organization and assess its impact on their business models. Working with case studies students will, in a group, analyze using organizational tools and methodologies to mitigate the impact or maximize the value change may bring. Students will discuss both the strategic issues facing an organization and discuss how the organization can align its operations with the new reality.
Competences and learning objectives
After the course you can:
- Analyze how organizational structure can effectively adapt and can be transformed to facilitate operations;
- Understand the role stakeholders (external and internal) in the change process and analyze strategies to keep them engaged with the change process;
- Understand how to analyze the culture of an organization and apply that in a culture map;
- Work on developing their own organizational change methodology, test that methodology on a case and defend improve their methodology based on peer feedback.
