Minor Entrepreneurship
- Starts February and September
- Dutch
- 30 ECTS
- 5 months
About the Minor
During this minor, you will work in a team of students from different study programs to set up and develop your own startup (Option 1) or further develop the startup you are already working on (Option 2). You will define and specify your target audience to achieve actual sales. At the end of the minor, you will pitch your business idea and startup to a panel of experienced entrepreneurs and investors.
Why Choose the Minor Entrepreneurship?
- You will actively work on your personal development as a (future) entrepreneur.
- You have the flexibility to shape your minor according to your needs.
- You will learn by building and developing your own startup or business!
Taking initiative and actively collaborating are key elements of this Minor Entrepreneurship. Our location in Eindhoven provides you, as an entrepreneurial Fontys student, with a workspace where you can manage your business, connect with potential customers, network, and meet other entrepreneurs. We offer lectures, training sessions, and workshops covering essential entrepreneurial knowledge and skills, such as (online) marketing, legal aspects, finance, sales, pitching, and project management.
The minor follows the European EntreComp framework and the Lean Startup methodology, ensuring both your personal development as an entrepreneur and significant progress with your business. You will be expected to immediately apply the knowledge you gain in practice.
Throughout this journey, you will receive intensive guidance from experienced entrepreneurial trainers, coaches, and external industry experts. They will support you in reflecting on your growth as an entrepreneur and the steps you take in your business.
If you are ready to step out of your comfort zone, reflect on your actions, and embrace feedback, we are confident that you will successfully complete this minor and grow as a student entrepreneur. The entrepreneurial competencies you develop during this program will also be highly valuable in a managerial role or as an “intrapreneur” (an entrepreneurial employee) within an existing company.
You will have a high degree of freedom in managing your work (attendance at training sessions and lectures is mandatory). However, we expect you to take initiative and actively engage with the real world—"get out of the building"—to test and refine your ideas in a real business environment. In short, learning by doing!
