International Campus Career Week are five days full of activities for second year students on campus Venlo. Our aim is to help you get ready for your internship and minor semesters - and get excited about the international aspect of your profession. During the week, we offer workshops, guest lectures, a minor market, study abroad fair and career day as well as fun social events. We host companies, alumni, international university partners and other guests during the week for a rich programme. On top of being really useful for your personal and professional development, many of the workshops and lectures can be used for your PPD portfolio*. We offer drinks and snacks during the afternoon tracks (Monday-Thursday) and students who take part can enter a daily raffle for some really cool prizes. Are you in?

Business people from all places and organisations, and most of them with a Fontys background, will inform you about their different international career paths.

Goal of the presentation
Show the students of Fontys Venlo what their international career opportunities are. Give them a better understanding of what it means to work on a certain position.
Content ideas (30-45 minutes)
Introduction of your own career path
- Steps you took starting with your studies
- Talk about your decisions you had to made on your path – what was good or bad about them? Advantages and disadvantages of them?
Introduction of the company you currently work for
- General introduction
- Offers for students?
- What makes the company special? (work-life balance policy?, etc.)
Introduction of the position you currently work on
- “translate” your job description to the students
- What exactly does it mean to do your job
- How does a typical week looks like?
- What is motivating on this job?

Student-centred sessions offered by guest lecturers from our international partner university network.
Did you ever want to know what it’s like to study and/or work in another
country? Representatives from our international partner universities will offer
sessions to share their experience about learning through a study abroad
semester, visiting their specific country and even working in it. Ranging from
Japan to Zambia to Spain, our international colleagues are looking forward to
sharing their insights with you!

Student-centred sessions that focus on the many opportunities in the Euregion, home to Fontys Venlo Campus
As a Fontys Venlo student you study, live and probably also work in the Dutch-German borderland. Due to the proximity of the neighbouring country, you are likely to come into contact with people from across the border. This requires something from your attitude, skills and knowledge. Within this track, we focus on successfully working and doing business in the border context of this region. Key words are euregional employment, applying and entrepreneurship.

Target Audience: All Fontys Venlo students
Language: Mostly English. For the Wednesday session we need to have a good mix between Dutch and German students. In that session also Dutch and German will be spoken.

Our workshops and dialog sessions are designed to help you develop essential personal skills for thriving in diverse and intercultural settings. You'll gain insights into different cultural settings and cultivate a global perspective on business practices. Additionally, you'll have opportunities to network with peers, professionals, and alumni with international experience. These interactive and engaging sessions will prepare you to excel in any diverse environment, whether your internship or minor semester is local or abroad.

Are you wondering where to do your minor? Come to the minor market to see the full range of options - we can help you understand what is on offer and how you can apply - we showcase minor study abroad, minors in Fontys, on campus in Venlo and elsewhere in the Netherlands. Next to that, get in touch with the international community on campus and visit the culture fair.
Minor Study Abroad
Are you considering doing your minor abroad? Would you like to know what that is like and how you can arrange that? Attend the Minor Study Abroad and get first-hand information from students who have been abroad already. And talk to the International Coordinators to find out how you can arrange a semester at a university anywhere in the world.
Minor in the Netherlands
Are you interested in pursuing a minor but prefer to stay in the Netherlands? Curious about the options available to deepen your knowledge or enhance your profile? Visit the Minor Market to explore your opportunities. You might discover something new that you hadn't considered before!
Culture Fair
Do you know how many different nationalities and cultures make up the international campus in Venlo? Come and find out at the culture fair, where the international community showcases and share their own culture. Students from home and abroad, full-time bachelor and exchange share some aspect of their culture and celebrate the cultural diversity of our campus. Drop in, engage and have fun with the multitude of cultures that makes up our campus.

Students who attend the minor market, can also get lunch from the food trucks that will be available outside the tent.

Career Day

The ultimate career event for the Venlo region where students and businesses can meet in person to discuss internships, graduation projects and more..
The Career Day on 17 October 2024 will be the tenth edition of this campus-wide career event organised by Fontys Venlo. With around 800 students and 100 companies attending, the Career Day has carved out a name for itself as the ultimate career platform in North Limburg and the Euregio for young professionals.
Students can very easily get in contact with companies from different industries and set their first step towards their professional career. Students from different undergraduate programmes will be attending this event.

Campus Global Lounge Party
It's Thursday evening, so of course there is a Global Lounge event! Come to the tent for the closing event of International Campus Career Week, for some music, a drink, and a raffle for participants of activities during the week. Dont miss out on the fun, and the chance to win a prize.

International Business Competences Module in Marketing Management
During this week, students in marketing management take part in a truly international module: G75M Communication & Culture IV: Intercultural Business Competences. Lecturers from the marketing management team together with colleagues from international partner universities hold an intensive week, where marketing management students work on international projects with authentic input in a truly international classroom.
