As a non-EU/EEA student, the Netherlands will require an Entry Visa* (MVV) and a Residence Permit. Fontys will apply on behalf of its students for these documents. We recommend you start the process early, i.e. approximately three months before you plan to enter the Netherlands.
*except nationals from Australia, Canada, Japan, Monaco, New Zealand, South Korea, the USA and Vatican City State.
Fontys University of Applied Sciences will act according to the Code of Conduct.
Are you a Dutch student and do you want to pursue the English taught bachelor’s degree International Communication Management, but do not meet the admission requirements and are older than 21 years? In that case, you can take a 21+ test.
The 21+ test consists of two parts:1. The intellectual capacity test (ACT), this is offered by Fontys. Please find more information here.2. The English proficiency test, you will need to independently obtain an English language proficiency test. Fontys does not offer this language test. Please see here for all the accepted tests and their requirements.
Both parts need to be succesfully completed before 1 September.
Taking care of your finances is an important part of student life. There are tuition fees, possible scholarships and (proof of) living expenses to consider.
More about financesGood to know: the Dutch Immigration Service (IND) requires non-EEA students to proof they have access to a certain amount of money per year/semester. Read more by clicking the link above.
Besides tuition fees, there are more costs such as textbooks, introduction, excursions and a good laptop. Are you going to live in a room? Then you will pay rent and other living costs such as gas, water and internet.
Check on DUO whether you are eligible for study financing or a student public transport pass.
Foreign students in the Netherlands typically spend €1,100-€1,500 monthly, covering rent, insurance, food, transport, clothing, and more.
It is important to us that you feel at home with us. A study choice check can help you do just that. With a questionnaire and a personal interview, together we will see if this programme suits you. Do you apply after the deadline? Then our recommendation is binding.
Wondering what's to come after applying for this programme? Check out the entire application process.
Please note! If you wish to apply for housing through Fontys, the application deadline is June 15.
