Get a good impression of what your study programme will look like.
This practical study programme teaches you how to handle finances in a company. You will learn everything about bookkeeping, budgeting, creating and analysing financial reports. You will also develop skills to help with decisions about money, such as investments and cost control.
Finance and Control is a small-scale study programme. Due to the good mix between theory and practice, you can immediately apply your knowledge during the practical assignments. You will be at campus for approximately 25 hours per week for classes and working on projects. In Venlo, the focus lays on subjects such as entrepreneurship, sustainability and internationalisation.
In year 1, titled: ‘The company and its environment’, you will learn about company structures and functions. You’ll gain essential business administration basics, develop skills in project management, learn a foreign language, and be introduced to scientific research, all supported by a personal and professional development coach.
Year 2 is the entry into the main study programme, called: ‘Handling management challenges. You’ll tackle modern business issues, building on first-year knowledge. Engage in practical projects, including the StartUp Factory, where you can start your own company. This year provides real-world business insights and deepens your expertise in management challenges.
Year 3 focuses on practical application. You’ll complete a six-month internship in a company and industry of your choice, anywhere in the world, to deepen your professional knowledge. You’ll also have the option to further develop your skills through a minor programme or a semester abroad at one of over 125 partner universities.
In year 4, you’ll become a business professional and complete your management profile. You’ll focus on strategic corporate management, business intelligence, big data, and legal frameworks. In the final semester, you’ll complete another internship and write your bachelor’s thesis, culminating in an internationally recognised Bachelor of Science degree.
