With the Fontys MSc in System Design, you'll master system architecture, mechanics, electronics, and AI, preparing for roles in high-tech industries. Benefit from personalised coaching and learn to design complex systems, oversee technical interfaces, and develop key leadership skills.

What will your programme look like?

Join the Fontys Master System Design and fast-track your career in just two years. With 8 hours of lectures, 16 hours of self-study, and 16 hours of project work weekly, you'll apply theory to real-world challenges, working closely with high-tech companies in the Brainport region. This hands-on experience, combined with theoretical learning, prepares you for complex industry demands.

Year 1

In the first year of the Master System Design, you will engage in four modules that provide a comprehensive foundation in system design, mechanics, electronics, and artificial intelligence.

The programme focuses on addressing the real technical challenges of high-tech systems, with an emphasis on design, measurement, realization, and testing. Through modeling, simulation, and advanced sensor techniques, you will learn to analyze and optimize complex systems. Key topics include data science, design principles, AI, interoperability, dynamics, and control engineering, equipping you with the skills to enhance system stability, precision, and performance in dynamic and high-demand environments. We also focus on providing you with professional skills in topics such as leadership, collaboration, and communication.

In your second year, you'll immerse yourself in a final project at a leading company, culminating in your master's thesis. You'll sharpen your skills in innovation, research, and ethics. Guided by industry experts and coaches, you'll tackle real-world challenges, preparing you for high-impact roles in the tech industry and solidifying your position as a T-shaped professional.
