What are you going to learn?
In many master’s programmes, subjects such as academic skills are offered in a first year or pre-master’s programme. In this course, academic skills are interwoven throughout the year. This ensures that you can immediately apply the theoretical subjects in the more practical and subject-oriented areas. Classes are taught by committed and highly qualified lecturers, who provide varied classes, assignments, workshops, and excursions.

How does your week look?
In this programme, your weeks consist of attending workshops, classes, guest lectures, assignments, case studies, and logistics field trips. The average number of classes is 14 per week. In addition, you’ll do a lot of self-study and group work.

Diploma and language requirements EEA
To be accepted onto this degree course you must have:
1. A relevant Bachelor degree or equivalent in a business, engineering or logistics subject that meets the required academic level.
Normal minimum entry requirements are a Lower Second-Class Honours (2:2) degree or equivalent. Other qualifications accompanied by substantial experience in an appropriate field may also be considered. Non-standard applications are considered on a case-by-case basis.

All candidates will receive a preparatory package prior to the start in September. This package consists of relevant readings and online tutorials. It enables you to be well prepared before the start of the course.
2. A suitable English language qualification English:
- IELTS Academic score of 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in each element).
- TOEFL iBT score of 90 (with mimimum scores of listening 17, reading 18, speaking 20, writing 18).
- For other language tests that you have been taken, please contact us beforehand.
- All English tests must be taken at an authorized test centre. Fontys doesn’t accept online versions of tests. Please contact your admissions officer if your test centre is closed due to circumstances.
- They have been awarded no more than 2,5 years prior to your course start date at Venlo.

3. For Visa purposes we need a CV / Resume and a Motivational Letter. These should be written by you in person and not have been established by using AI or plagiarism in any form.
It should cover at least the following subjects:

- Why do you choose this Master study programme
- Why do you want to attend the joined study programme at Fontys Venlo and Plymouth University
- Why do you think that you are a fit candidate for the study programme of your choice
- How will you be funding the tuition fees and the living expenses
- How are you planning to arrange accommodation, given the fact that we can’t provide you with housing
After receipt and verification of the application form, Fontys University will send the enrolment letter / conditional enrolment letter / dismissal letter by email.

There are currently no scholarships available for the study programmes that we have on offer at our Fontys Venlo campus. However, for other programmes Fontys currently offers several scholarships for Non-Eu / Non-EEA students. You might also be eligible for other scholarships not provided by Fontys. More information about the scholarships that Fontys offersTuition fees are paid in two instalments. The first instalment needs to be paid before June 1st (for non-EU/EEA students) or before July 1st (for EU/EEA students). The payment covers the first semester at Fontys Venlo.
You will receive a Payment agreement with full instructions from Fontys Venlo. The second instalment is charged in January and covers the second semester in Plymouth and the summer period.

Living expenses Plymouth
The average living expenses per month for a foreign student living and studying in Plymouth are between £ 900 - £ 1.100 per month. These living expenses cover rent, insurance, food, public transportation, books, clothing and other general costs.
Living expenses Netherlands
Dutch Immigration Service (IND) requires non-EEA students to proof they have access to a certain amount that cover the living expenses.
For the September 2024 intake this was an amount of € 14.641 per study year. This amount is indexed every year. We will publish the amount for the September 2025 intake as soon available.
Please note that students from Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, Cameroon and Nigeria are obliged to transfer the full amount of the living expenses to Fontys before June 1st.
The living expenses will be refunded after full enrolment in September.
Because of the short period that you will be staying in Venlo, Fontys cannot offer you accommodation. You will need to find housing yourself.
Please note that available student housing is limited in the Netherlands, so make sure to start your search in time. Check out our website at the section of the commercial housing agencies for tips.

In Plymouth, students also look for accommodation on their own. Most students find accommodation by searching online or by asking MSc alumni. In general, it is not difficult to find good accommodation in Plymouth within two weeks.

- Diploma in the original language and a certified translation into Dutch, English or German
- Final transcript of records in the original language and a certified translation into Dutch, English or German
- Proof of English proficiency as mentioned in the admission requirements. The language certificates that are accepted are mentioned in the application form. All certificates must be obtained at a test center and cannot be taken online.
Upload the required admission documents and identification documents digitally through the admission form. The diploma validation might take up to four weeks. You will receive a notification of the outcome as soon as available.
3. Complete the payment of the tuition fees.
Once you have received the information that you are admissible, you will receive a Payment Letter in which we ask you to pay the tuition fees to Fontys in 1 time. This payment must be paid before the deadline mentioned on the Payment Letter. The amount will only be for the semester at Fontys.
4. We can only arrange full enrolment once you have shown the admission documents at the Student Service Centre as a hard copy. Please note that this includes the final diploma and transcript of records in the original language and translated into English, German or Dutch if applicable. This needs to be arranged before the start of the study programme. You will be informed about this matter in detail during the admission process.
