In today's society, as an organization you depend on others in order to achieve your goals. This applies also in the field of regional economic development. As Fontys Venlo, we want to contribute to the development of the region around Venlo. In that context, it is important that organizations active in different sectors know how to collaborate successfully. This can be particularly difficult at the border because of for example language and cultural differences. In this assignment, you will use models on "interorganizational collaboration" to research the collaboration between different organizations in the Dutch-German borderland. The aim of this assignment is to provide organizations with tools on how to successfully collaborate in the borderland.

An interesting graduation assignment

Are you interested in conducting practice-oriented research on Interorganisational collaboration on general-wellbeing (brede welvaart) in the Dutch – German border region, between Germany and the Netherlands’? Then, the research chair Cross-Border Business Development is the right place for you. The preliminary main research question we would like to see answered is:

In what ways can interorganizational collaboration be established to promote general wellbeing (brede welvaart) on both sides of the border?

Participation in day-to-day business at the workplace

The research chair Cross-Border Business Development is an applied research and development institute that focuses on doing business in the Dutch-German border region. The research is always carried out in cooperation with and on behalf of the business community in the Dutch-German border region. Within this practice-oriented research, we answer questions that companies and entrepreneurs in the Dutch-German border region have. In addition, researchers from every Fontys International Business School bachelor program work within the research chair on cross-border business issues.

As an employer, Fontys gives you every opportunity to think along and work together proactively. You will be actively involved in the team and the organization. During your internship or graduation project at Fontys Venlo, you will come into contact with many nice companies and business clubs in the euregion. You will be assigned concrete tasks and with that your own responsibility, for example in the field of event management and marketing. Of course, you will be given the space you need to work on your research.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a student in the graduation phase. You enjoy doing research in an international team. You have the ambition to do a master's degree after your bachelor's degree and therefore want to become competent in doing research. You have an affinity for cross-border work in the Dutch-German border region.

Terms of employment

We offer an attractive internship in a Dutch-German team with an internship remuneration.
