Fontys Engineering

Great that you are interested in one of our technical programmes. We can imagine that it is difficult to discover exactly what the difference is between these programmes. That is why we would like to help you on your way! On this page, you will find info on the different programmes and practical information. The various programmes

We offer five technical bachelor programmes: Applied Mathematics, Automotive Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics. In addition, we also offer master programmes.

All our programmes start in September. Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering offer another start moment in February.

Educational programmes

We offer five technical bachelor programmes: Applied Mathematics, Automotive Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics. In addition, we also offer master programmes.

Bachelor's programmes

Applied Mathematics

Do you want to discover how to use maths to improve organisations? Do you like to puzzle with data and look for patterns? Then Applied Mathematics is for you! It prepares you to become a Data Scientist with a focus on applications in Logistics and Engineering.

Automotive Engineering

Do you have a passion for engineering and automotive technology? Do you want to get the maximum power out of a car with the least amount of fuel consumption? Do you want to play a role in the development of innovative, electric vehicles? Then Automotive is the programme for you!

Electrical and Electronic Engineering

Are you curious about the way a product or device works exactly? Would you like to invent and make innovative products yourself? Do you have a passion for technology? Then step into the world of electrical engineering!

Mechanical Engineering

Do you want to invent new products, improve machines and create (3D) designs? Do you have a passion for engineering, are you curious, creative and precise? Then Mechanical Engineering is for you! As a mechanical engineer, you will think about the technology of the future.

Mechatronics

Do you have a passion for technology, are you curious and do you know how to handle things? Then Mechatronics is right up your street. To keep up with technical developments, you need to be able to switch quickly. As a mechatronic engineer, you help build a more liveable future.

Master's programmes

Master Digital Technology Engineering

Ready for a leading role in digital transformation? Are you an ambitious bachelor in engineering, ICT or Applied Science who aspires a career in a broader role? Are you willing to solve complex and meaningful challenges in a cross disciplinary approach? Then this master is for you!

Master System Design

Interested in high tech system design leadership? Want to delve into technical interactions and system interfaces? Aspire to craft impactful systems? Completed your engineering bachelor's and aiming for broader roles? Then our Master's in System Design is your fit!

Minor programmes

In the third year of your bachelor's programma, you will have the opportunity to select a minor that aligns with your interest and career goals. Each minor offers a unique specialization area, allowing you to explorer diverse facets of engineering. At Fontys Engineering, our English minors include:

Difference between university of applied sciences and research university

The main difference between an university of applied sciences and a research university is that an university of applied sciences focuses on putting knowledge directly into practice and a research university is more focused on scientific research. Programmes from both universities result in a bachelor degree.

Nexus building

Welcome to Nexus building, the central location where all Fontys Engineering bachelor programmes have their starting point.

Here, your academic journey begins in a place infused with knowledge and innovation. As a student at Nexus, you become part of a vibrant community, where you not only lay the foundation for your education but also have the opportunity to experience the lively atmosphere of the nearby campus of Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) and the Student Sports Centre.

The different labs at Nexus

You will find several labs in the Nexus building, all equipped with the latest facilities. For example, you will find 3D printers in the Objexlab and a metal laser cutter in the Technique workshop.
