T.M.M.M. (Thijs) van den Houdt
Thijs van den Houdt is a teacher and researcher in the field of media ethics and
public debate. His current research focuses on live journalism both as
educational method and as an ongoing - live - interaction with the audience.
In this capacity, Thijs supervised a pilot in which students experimented with staged journalism and performed a show himself before an audience of international colleagues. In the coming years his research will continue with numerous case studies, to find interpretations of live journalism that both appeal to audiences and provide a good learning environment. Stemming from his background in philosophy, leading works around public discourse will be the starting point.
