Safety

Fontys highly values the safety of students, staff and visitors. Below, we focus on three themes: physical, social and digital safety.

In case of emergencies at a Fontys location

  • Call internal emergency number 08850-77119. The control room quickly links with emergency services and grants access to campus at the gate;
  • Call 112 in case of emergency. No urgency but want to speak to police? Call 0900-88-44;
  • Report an accident using this form. This is important for insurance purposes.

Confidential advisor

Do you feel that there is bullying, (sexual) harassment, racism, discrimination, aggression, or violence within Fontys? It is important to respond quickly to such situations. Feeling safe is a fundamental right.

What is a Confidential Advisor?

A confidential advisor is there for everyone within Fontys and is the point of contact if you encounter undesirable behaviour or feel unsafe. For example, in the event of bullying, (sexual) intimidation, racism, discrimination, aggression or violence. You and your story are safe with one of our confidential advisors, as they have a duty of confidentiality.

Social safety

Student counsellor or psychologist

A student counsellor or psychologist can help you process and impact on your studies. Use the appointment tool to make an appointment.

(Sexual) violence

Have you (had) to deal with (sexual) violence, harassment or abuse? Most importantly, don't keep walking around with it. Check out all the possibilities within Fontys (such as contacting a confidential advisor) or contact the Sexual Assault Center.

Physical safety

Feeling uneasy about someone or a situation

Acute
Report it to the reception of the building you are in. Or call the Fontys control room on 08850-74966.

Less acute
Discuss it with your student coach or report it to infopunt veiligheid (safety information point)

Non life-threatening health situations

Theft

Report a case of theft to the control room via meldkamer@fontys.nl or 08850-74966.

File a report
Report it to the police and get a police report. You will need that for insurance purposes.

IT Servicedesk
Has your Fontys laptop or phone been stolen with sensitive information on it? Then also report this to the IT Servicedesk: IT-Servicedesk@fontys.nl or via 08850-77777.

Problems abroad

Contact the internationalisation co-ordinator at your institute.

Suspicious email

Have you received a suspicious e-mail or phishing email, or are you getting suspicious spam? Forward it to abuse@fontys.nl!

What can I do myself?

The risk of successful cyber attacks in higher education is increasing. Such an attack can cause great damage. Students and staff are our strongest links in prevention. By being alert and taking action on digital threats, you can help keep cybercriminals out as much as possible.
