A confidential advisor is available to everyone within Fontys and serves as the point of contact if you experience unwanted behavior or feel unsafe. For example, in cases of bullying, (sexual) harassment, racism, discrimination, aggression, or violence. You and your story are safe with one of our confidential advisors, as they are bound by confidentiality. During a conversation, you can choose to work together on a follow-up plan, or simply share your concerns. It's entirely up to you.
How does it work?
1. Contact a confidential advisor
- If you feel unsafe within Fontys, you can contact one of the confidential advisors..
- On this page you can find an overview of who the confidential advisors are within Fontys, you may choose who you prefer to contact.
- Can't choose? Then you can also e-mail to vertrouwenspersonen@fontys.nl. One of our confidential advisors will contact you.
- All communication with a confidential advisor is covered by our duty of confidentiality, so will not be shared with others.
2. Engage with a confidential advisor
- The confidential advisor offers a listening ear, there is room for your story and emotions.
- Everything remains confidential.
- The confidential advisor stands beside you and does not take over the situation from you. You are in control of the situation.
- You decide whether you just want to vent your heart, or also talk about next steps.
3. Discuss possible next steps together
- The confidential advisor will tell you what is possible in terms of follow-up steps within or outside Fontys.
- Together, you take stock of what is important for you to include in the (possible) next steps.
- You'll be guided in making your own choice that suits the situation.
With confidential advisors at Fontys...
- ... you are safe to share your story;
- ... you decide what happens;
- ... you can also turn to if there is violence/violence threat at home;
- ... you can also just vent about feeling unsafe.
