As a student of Logistics Management at Fontys, you will learn to optimise processes, negotiate with external and internal partners, and get acquainted with customs, trade law and e-commerce. Gain hands-on experience and prepare for a successful career in the fast-paced logistics industry.
In 4 years at Fontys Logistics Management, you'll master process management, develop economic decision-making skills, and automate systems. Collaborate with suppliers and customers to enhance supply chain performance. Spend 25 hours weekly in lectures and projects, plus 15 hours in self-study. Each semester includes exams, reports, presentations.
In your first year, you will learn the fundamentals of logistics, economics, statistical models, and project management. Each semester focuses on a unique topic like warehousing, distribution, production, or integrated logistics. You'll engage in exciting projects, visit companies, and gain essential soft skills such as teamwork, self-reflection, and communication. It's a dynamic start to your journey!
Year two is all about specialisation and expanding your knowledge. You'll choose between logistics management or logistics engineering, and focus on lean management to boost productivity and cut costs. Learn more about international trade, set up performance measurement systems, and optimise logistics processes. It's a year of deeper insights and practical skills to elevate your expertise.
The third year offers a blend of hands-on experience and academic enrichment. You'll start with an internship at a company of your choice, gaining real-world insights. During the second semester, you'll choose a minor to deepen or broaden your knowledge in areas like customs management or e-commerce. Study at Fontys, at another university in the Netherlands, or at one of our 125 partner universities abroad.
Your final year begins with an intensive focus on supply chain management. You will learn to optimise procurement, calculate supply chain costs, and navigate the commercial and legal aspects. In your last semester, you'll solve a real-world challenge during your work placement, culminating in your graduation report. Successfully complete this, and you will earn your Bachelor of Science, ready to take on the logistics world!
