Lector Move to Be

Dr. D.H.H. (Dave) van Kann

Dave Van Kann (1985) is lector ‘Leren Bewegen in en rondom de School’ bij Fontys Sporthogeschool, lectoraat Move to Be. Daarnaast is hij opleidingscoördinator van de Master Sport- en Bewegingsonderwijs. Hij heeft een achtergrond in de gezondheidsbevordering en is gepromoveerd aan de Universiteit Maastricht (2017) met een proefschrift over de rol van de basisschoolomgeving op het beweeg- en zitgedrag van kinderen. Als lector is hij in het bijzonder verantwoordelijk voor het kennisthema leren bewegen met de onderzoekslijnen ‘bewegen in en rondom school’, ‘motiverend leerklimaat’ en ‘beoordelen in de LO’ en het kennisthema beweegvriendelijke omgeving. Zijn onderzoeksfocus ligt met name op de invloed van de (school)omgeving op fysieke (in)activiteit van kinderen en duurzame gedragsverandering en interventieaanpakken. Hij heeft ruime ervaring met verschillende interventie- en implementatiestudies op kinderdagverblijven en basisscholen, o.a. Active Living, SALTO studie, KEIGAAF, Start(v)aardig, Bewegend Curriculum, GrowthMoves. Daarnaast is hij betrokken bij meerdere (interventie)projecten waarbij het objectief meten van beweeggedrag en locaties (middels GPS) centraal staat. Tevens is hij ontwikkelaar van de Maastrichtse methodiek ‘Gezond Kindcentrum in Beweging’. Samen met collega-lector Steven Vos geeft hij leiding aan het lectoraat Move to Be. Zij zorgen er voor dat de missie ‘een leven lang bewegen’ centraal staat in elke levensfase.
