I work with the research group Cross-Border Business Developments (CBBD) because I believe in the economic potential of the German-Dutch border region. As a lecturer at a university of applied sciences who crosses the border every day, whose PhD focused on trust-building in international B2B relationships and who has gained broad experience in intercultural contexts I realize that cross-border cooperations are essential to unlocking the potential of this region.
After finishing school, I chose to study Commerciële Economie in the Netherlands, driven by my strong interest in the intercultural aspects of living and working together. Before becoming a lecturer in the Netherlands, I worked for a Swedish company in Germany, where I was part of the European marketing department. These experiences, both professional and academic, have deepened my intercultural competence and broadened my view on the challenges and opportunities of international collaboration.
At CBBD, I aim to contribute by identifying barriers and opportunities in border regions and helping to develop strategies that promote integration and cooperation. CBBD’s vision of fostering a 360-degree perspective on cross-border developments aligns with my belief that sustainable economic and social growth can only be achieved through close cooperation and cultural understanding. Through practice-oriented research, I want to support bridging the gap between theory and practice, supporting individuals and organizations in recognizing and seizing the opportunities offered by cross-border collaboration.
