Macroscopic Setup Polarizing Antenna
The goal of the assignment is to create a macroscopic
experiment setup in which we can demonstrate that is it possible to influencethe polarization of EM-waves using antennas. This research is aimed towards thedevelopment of optical sensors that are in theory much safer than electronic counterparts.

toegepaste natuurwetenschappenProject description
A previous research group had already made several differently shaped antennas and used wifi routers designed for research
purposes to transmit and receive EM-waves. It is expected that an antenna can be used to influence the polarisation and therefore the transmitted power of an
EM-wave. Currently the results of the measurements are mostly in line with the expectations but the results are not consistent enough to draw any conclusions.
Therefore, the current challenge yet to tackle is to create a setup that can consistently measure the received power transmitted by the router.
