Doppler Ultrasound Phantom

The assignment of this project is to realize a doppler ultrasound phantom setup. The goal with this phantom is to identify pathologies in a carotid artery.The target group are students of Fontys Medical Imaging and Radiotherapeutic Techniques (MBRT). With this project, the MBRT students become familiar with pathologies during their study period.

Project description

  • The starting point of the project is 09-02-2022.
  • The big challenge was the communication between both studies, because it was difficult to plan a meeting with two different studies.
  • The expectations were to create a setup with which you can identify pathologies with Doppler ultrasound.
  • So far most of the individual parts of the setup are finished. These individual parts are the phantom, the engine and the tube-system (between the phantom and the engine). The setup will be tested once the parts are all put together. Any shortcomings will be reconsidering and at least documented for further research.
